Academic degrees: M.Sc. in human physiology 1984, Ph.D. 1991 from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
Appointments and training: In the period 1985-1990 permanent research appointment at the National Institute of Occupational Health Denmark. From 1991-1996 post doc and research associate professor at the University of Copenhagen. From 1996 associate professor at the University of Copenhagen.
Scientific and academic task. Referee jobs, advisory boards, dean etc.: Member of the research council of the Danish Elite Sport Association. Section editor of Scandinavian Journal of Medicine and Science in Sport and ad hoc review work for several scientific journals.
Research area: Biomechanics of human movement especially human walking and clinical gait analysis measured by three-dimensional computerised video analysis. Motor control of human walking and running measured by electrophysiological methods such as electromyography and the Hoffmann reflex. Computer simulation of human movement.
Grants: The Danish Research Council for Sports, The Danish Elite Sport Association, The Danish Medical Research Council, The Danish Rheumatism Association and several private Danish foundations. The Danish Technical Research Council.
International collaboration: University of California Los Angeles (Pr Reggie Edgerton, pr. Susan Harkema), University of Colorado (Pr Claire Farley), Cleveland Clinic (Pr Anton J van den Bogert), University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (Pr. Dan ferris).
